native women's wilderness

Native Women's Wilderness was created to bring Native women together to share our stories, support each other, and learn from one another as we endeavor to explore and celebrate the wilderness and our native land.

The Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women Initiative as formed due to the staggering numbers of missing women. The women and girls are being taken from us in an alarming way.  Our women are murdered at a rate 10 times higher than other ethnicities and it's the third leading cause of death for our Women (Centers for Disease Control).  The majority of these murders are committed by non-Native people on Native-owned land. Because of the lack of communication between state, local, and tribal law enforcement, it's difficult to begin the investigation process.

in October 2020, we donated $20,000 to help bring two missing women back to their families and communities.
