COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS

Picture
Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County is part of a national dropout prevention network. With over 200 affiliates nationwide, Communities In Schools is helping 1.3 million students stay in school and achieve in life.

Communities In Schools was brought to Tarrant County by a United Way task force that saw a need for an effective and efficient stay-in-school program. Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County was formed in 1992 and opened programs in two schools. Over the past 28 years, our effective results and growing support have allowed us to expand into 55 schools across 11 Tarrant County school districts, serving over 35,000 students.

At Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County, we do whatever it takes to keep our students in school and on the path to graduation.

In the Spring of 2019, we donated $1 million - the largest gift CIS Greater Tarrant County has received to date.

In the fall of 2020 we donated $200,000 to  support CIS programs at five elementary schools in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford School District.
